laser engraver for wood and metal

Laser engravers are neat machines that use focused light to cut or etch  designs into materials, and are perfect for all types of projects. In  Voiern, we’ve seen these machines really help people create beautiful and durable designs across a variety of surfaces. Be it a wooden plaque with a family name, or a metal tool with an important label, laser engravers excel at fast work that captures  fine detail. These are great machines for creators, makers and companies that wish to personalize their products. They not only scratch the surface; they leave a deep,  clear mark that remains for quite a long time. You never have to worry about sloppy paints or smeared stickers again quickly and easily laser engrave the materials,” they continued, as “laser engraving stays sharp  and clean. And lasers do less harm to the material compared to  other methods, leaving wood smooth and metal strong. Voiern laser engravers are powerful and precise tools that make it easy to DIY a host of items,  from gifts to industrial parts. For example, our Laser engraving and cutting machine 1325 is perfect for various applications.

They’re neat for  wood and metal because they do things other tools can’t really manage as well. First, the laser beam is tiny and super fast, so it can create very fine designs. You could carve  out a little flower or write a little message on a metal key chain. A centaur rides a horse, in perfect synchrony.Voiern’s machines have no trouble with this. Another reason is that laser engraving never physically makes contact with the material, so there’s no pressure or flexing.  Wood remains smooth, and metal goes unscratched around the design. And, because the heat of the laser burns or vaporizes the surface in a measured manner, it lasts  — burning  lines are more independent than those made with ink. Wood comes in many different colors and grains, which the laser can make more visible, changing a bit of its color when it burns lightly. On metal, the laser can leave  a shiny or dark mark according to settings, and so each piece will be completely unique. For instance, you can burn a logo onto the band of a wooden watch without splitting wood. A stainless steel emblem can  be deeply engraved with  an intricate design that will withstand heavy everyday  use. Voiern’s laser machines can be customized for power, speed and depth, so that each project comes out just  right. And these are fast machines that can do many of the same item one after another, which would save time for a business or hobbyist. The fact that designs can be switched out so easily on a  computer has an extra boon: no tools or molds are required. These capabilities make laser engravers ideal for small batch products or custom projects unlike stamping or printing, which require special equipment.  That’s when  laser engraving as a custom wood and metal personalization makes so much sense… it’s smart, clean and remarkably effective.

What Makes Laser Engravers Ideal for Wood and Metal Customization

Laser engraving enhances the quality of product in numerous ways. For one, it produces sharp and crisp designs every time — something essential for brands or products that require  a polished appearance. At Voiern, we find that our customers love how laser engraving can achieve fine details that paint or sticker cannot compare to. That means logos, serial numbers and stylish  designs are readable — and attractive — for years. Secondly: it's all very clean. Laser engraving, unlike other processes,  won’t leave dust or sticky glue  residues on your product’s surface since the laser system does not require contact with your product. That’s helpful in industries where cleanliness counts, such as fabricating kitchen tools or electronic parts. Laser marks can be much more permanent, with products  resisting scratches, or water and /or heat damage – without losing the product design. Wood: For wood, laser engraving can remove small amounts of surface layer without degrading the material’s strength and keeps it original state but with more aesthetic. In metal components, the printhead can engrave deeply enough so that grip or manufacturer marking can be added, without affecting the strength of the metal. For instance, on tools or machine parts, laser engraving can mark safety warnings or measurements  that won’t rub away with use. And this is what makes the products beneficial and safe. Plus, laser engraving means manufacturers  can work faster and more accurately. Designs are drawn from digital files, so each piece is identical.  Voiern’s machines can accommodate complex formations and bevel along curves, which allows industries to develop products that have superior craftsmanship and design.  The laser may even improve the surface  of material as it engraves, cleaning and smoothing it. These  all enable better products that customers trust and love. This  is why wood and metal industries in particular, have turned to laser engraving for  making their products appear better while  also lasting longer.

Wood and metal when laser engraved, they are very interesting to work with as you can form really beautiful patterns and designs. But some issues are fairly pervasive when working with such materials. One problem is that wood can burn too heavily, or have black marks around the design. This typically occurs due to excessive laser power or slow speed. To correct this, you can reduce the laser power or speed up so the laser does not linger  in one spot too long. The other thing  with wood is that the  various species of wood get engraved differently.  An example: soft wood such as  pine burns more quickly than hard oak. Make sure you experiment in the small wood  part before using it to full work.
